During School Hours, we will support the children with their virtual studies to the best of our ability. Similar to helping them with homework after school, we will provide a quiet environment for them to be able to focus and learn. For the children who do not have school work to do we will plan age appropriate and engaging activities. Having 1 teacher to 14 children, we will not be able to provide 1 on 1 tutoring or instruction, but we will assist them as best we can. The children will need to bring their own devices and headphones. This is a collaborative effort, as parents will also have responsibility at home to ensure their children are completing their schoolwork and staying on track. Parents will be asked to provide an outline from their child’s teacher that explains their course of virtual studies.
The Afternoon Program will consist of structured social time, play, and activities to help in developing social/emotional, physical, and cognitive areas of development.

The CDC & MSDE regulations on the health and safety for both staff and students during this pandemic will be followed. Click here to see our COVID-19 procedures. We will continue to update our program according to the local school districts’ decisions in order to continue to meet the needs of our Open Arms school-agers.
